About Us
Launched in 2009 by The Flute Studio, the Flute Festival Singapore was the first festival of its kind in the region — and it has welcomed some of the greatest names of the flute world to our stages, among them the legendary William Bennett OBE, Philippe Pierlot, Denis Bouriakov, Sébastian Jacot, Lorna McGhee, Vincent Lucas, Loïc Schneider and Elizaveta Ivanova.
Established in 1992, The Flute Studio (Singapore) has spent over three decades promoting the art of flute playing — organising concerts and recordings, teaching, and serving as the home of Singapore's flute community.
Our founder and Artistic Director, Goh Tiong Eng, is a product of the French flute school: he studied in Paris with Philippe Pierlot on a French government scholarship, taking the Premier Prix and Prix d'Excellence, then completed his LRAM and Master's at the Royal Academy of Music, London under William Bennett OBE. He played fifteen years in the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, founded the Singapore Flute Orchestra, and serves as Vice-Chairperson of the Asia Flutists Federation.
14th Flute Festival Singapore 2027 — Homage to Wibb
The 14th edition is dedicated to the memory of William Bennett OBE (1936–2022) — "Wibb" — one of the greatest flutists of his generation, beloved teacher, and a dear friend of this festival from its earliest days.
Wibb gave gala concerts and masterclasses here across the years, and his artistry continues to inspire the annual William Bennett Singapore Award. In 2027 his students and friends gather from around the world in a celebration of his sound, his teaching and his spirit.
Programme, star artists and dates will be announced on this page.
Our Partner — Altus Flute Japan
Two artists who shaped this festival play Altus — read their recommendations, then meet the instruments on our Flutes for Sale page.

I love my Altus flute. It has a rich and vibrant sound … I recommend the Altus flute because I prefer the tone and intonation of this instrument to any other modern instrument.”

Denis Bouriakov — Principal Flute of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and star artist of our 8th festival — performs on Altus flutes.
